Bulgaria is an eastern European country, once part of the Ottoman Empire and later locked behind the Iron Curain Bulgaria has recently changed from a distant and unknown country to a thriving tourist spot. Most of Bulgarias visitors come for the beaches along he Black Sea with is warm weather and calm waters.
Other than its beaches Bulgaria offers a range of activities to choose from, the Bansko region is well known for skiing and other areas offer relaxing spas, cycling tours, hiking, Horse Riding, mountain climbing and various national parks to explore. Bulgaria also has traditional folk music festivals and ancient burial mounds in the Valley of the Thracian Kings.
